Phoenix, Ariz. – The Phoenix College Bears (5-0-0, 3-0-0 ACCAC) defended their No. 1 spot in the NJCAA Division II national poll Saturday night with a gritty 2–0 home win over Scottsdale Community College.

The Bears got off to a fast start when Easton Elzinga struck in the 10th minute off a feed from Connor Kane, putting Phoenix ahead 1–0. After a scoreless second half showing, Cruzeiro Cruz added an insurance goal in the 71st minute assisted by Tiernan Nicewander to seal the deal.

Goalkeeper Jan Villegas earned the clean sheet with solid play, denying every scoring opportunity and helping Phoenix limit Scottsdale to just a handful of shots. Phoenix dominated across the stat sheet, outshooting their opponent 25–4 while owning a strong advantage in attacking opportunities and precision.

With this victory, the Bears remain undefeated and continue their march through ACCAC play, eyes fixed on extending their national dominance.
